Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of UNIOSUN, Prof. Clement Adebooye, commended the new students for their determination and commitment to personal and professional development. Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academics, Research, Innovation, and Partnerships, Prof. Laurence Kehinde, the Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the institution's commitment to delivering high-quality education grounded in research, technological innovation, and community service.
Prof. Adebooye highlighted the role of the Centre for Part-Time and Advanced Studies (CPAS) in expanding flexible learning pathways without diluting academic standards. He noted that UNIOSUN has rolled out digital platforms to allow part-time students to manage academic activities and track progress remotely. Additionally, the university has begun developing a dedicated Centre for Advanced Studies facility to boost learning infrastructure.
The Vice-Chancellor urged the matriculants to utilize the university’s digital learning portals, attend classes consistently, and foster intellectual curiosity. He issued a stern warning against misconduct, including cultism, examination malpractice, cybercrime, drug abuse, sexual harassment, and certificate fraud, emphasizing that violations of university rules carry strict penalties, including expulsion.
Prior to the orientation session, the Director of the Centre for Part-Time and Advanced Studies, Prof. Abosede Akanbi, administered the matriculation oath, advising the new intakes to respect university authorities, protect campus property, and report illicit activities to university officials.
